Sara & Younes | Washington DC Wedding

Sara and Younes had a beautiful wedding day in Washington DC filled with a stunning church, Lebanese traditions, and family & family dressed to the hilt! I was in heaven with all of Sara's gorgeous details and her timeless wedding dress. Younes was just as classy with his black suit and bowtie. When you put the two of them together they were like pieces of a puzzle falling into place!

Not only did I love photographing all of the details and portraits, but I also loved the reception! Sara and Younes chose to incorporate traditions from their Lebanese culture into the party. First was the Zaffe, where a group of men danced and played the drums to get the crowd excited. Once the couple was announced they joined in on the fun and danced among the men. This was such an exciting moment to photograph because the room was exploding with excitement. In all of my years of photographing weddings I have never seen guests get so pumped! Another tradition that took place during the reception was the Dabke. This is a folk dance that combines circle dancing and line dancing. Everyone holds hands and dances together around the room. It was so much fun to watch their guests dance about the room with each other with huge smiles on their faces!

I ended the evening with night portraits of Sara and Younes. I think everyone should take a few moments for night portraits on their wedding day because it makes your wedding gallery all the more magical. The glow of the light, the stillness of the moment...you can't beat it! Sara and Younes have some of my favorite night portraits to date!
