Steven & Emily | Washington DC Proposal Photos

Have I ever mentioned just how much I love photographing proposals? Proposals are such a beautiful moment that happen once in a lifetime. I think capturing the moment with photographs is a great way to cherish the moment and relive it forever.

A little backstory here...Steven is a part of the wonderful family who owns my favorite Carroll County venue, The Royer House. I have worked with Emily before because she works at The Royer House, how fun! So when Brittany, Steven's sister, contacted me about capturing this proposal I was thrilled! It was all last minute, but luckily I happened to have the day free when he was to propose. Steven is currently living out-of-state working for the Air Force. He came home Memorial Day Weekend and knew it was the right time to propose! He wanted to pop the question at the National Arboretum in Washington DC because it is such a beautiful location. Steven and I worked out a place and time to meet so I would be able to capture the moment in it's entirety. When the time came, Steven got down on one knee and Emily said yes!! I am so happy that I got to witness and capture this moment for them! After the proposal we adventured around the arboretum and had a mini engagement session! Steven and Emily were up for anything and even braved some super tall grass to get some beautiful photos under a ivy-covered tree!

I am so honored that Steven chose me to capture this moment for them to relive forever. I cannot wait to see what their future together holds!
